SUPERIOR DESIGN, SUPERIOR VALUE

Design: The major feature that differentiates the SuperSafe
System from other tanks and ensures a superior safety level is the
Cylindrical Dike®. The patented Cylindrical Dike is a
UL-recognized, integral component of the UL-142 design standard
and meets the requirements of the ASME, NFPA, BOCA and
UFC. The 360-degree, integral Cylindrical Dike - at 25 percent
greater capacity than the primary tank enclosed within - also
encloses the entire storage tank system, any attached piping and
the emergency overflow vent.

With the implementation of this system, no external diking is required. If an overfill event were to occur, the over-flowed fuel would escape into and be captured by the Cylindrical Dike. This diking system is completely closed to the atmosphere, protecting the captured fuel from external contamination until it can be later pumped out and returned to inventory.

With SuperSafe's Cylindrical Dike, storm water disposal isn't an issue, as none can accumulate within this system. Furthermore, there are no below-liquid level openings or external piping, thus the risks associated with fuel leaking, spilling and siphoning are avoided. The advantage of the SuperSafe Cylindrical Dike Tank over all other aboveground tanks - whether a single-wall, double-wall or vaulted tank design with any type of secondary containment - is the Cylindrical Dike.

Superior Design - Cylindrical Dike

Value: SuperSafe's integral safety features ensure significant savings not only in their immediate application, but also in consequential ways. Further, the SuperSafe Tank's life cycle enhances its superior value, as illustrated by economic analysis.

Superior Design - Cylindrical Dike

Supporting factors include:

  • SuperSafe's internal diking means that costly construction and maintenance of external diking is unnecessary.
  • The boxed runner saddle support system can, and under the proper conditions will, preclude the need to construct a concrete pad.
  • As the Cylindrical Dike involves no discharge liquids, storm water discharge permits and associated costs are avoided.
  • As the SuperSafe Tank is a totally enclosed system, there are no weather-related maintenance costs, such as precipitation pumping, frequent painting, or disposal of fuel-water mixtures.
  • Actual insurance premiums will likely shrink following independent system evaluation by insurance carriers.
  • The system's modular design with integral diking avoids laborious razing and reconstructing external diking, and ensures easy transporting.
  • SuperSafe Tanks are designed for quick relocation without the use of oversized vehicles, reducing transportation time and costs.
  • SuperSafe is readily acceptable in all states, maximizing the tank's usage and boosting its resale value, which are inherently superior due to design attributes.
