CRITERIA FOR SELECTING YOUR ABOVEGROUND TANK

SuperSafe High Level Shut-Off Valve

The hydraulically operated, diaphragm-actuated, pilot controlled globe pattern valve is installed on the fill line inside the inner primary tank of the SuperSafe Tank. This location protects the valve from dramatic temperature changes found during daily operations and also protects the valve from all known risks.

SuperSafe High Level Shut-Off Valve

The valve automatically opens to fill the primary storage tank and closes tightly when liquid level reaches a predetermined point. Once the desired level is achieved, no further attention is necessary. If the diaphragm is damaged, the valve will close tightly, providing fail-safe operation. The valve is controlled by a float actuated pilot mounted on the center line three inches below desired shutoff level, in or near an access hatch and within close proximity of the valve inside the tank.

The float pilot control is a precision lapped plate type of valve actuated by a float attached to a lever arm. When the float is down, the valve is wide open allowing tank filling. As the float rises, flow through the pilot control is slowly throttled which causes the main valve to throttle smoothly to a tightly closed position when the tank is full without a hydraulic shock to upstream components. An anti-siphon feature will allow air into the product line in the event that a vacuum is generated on the inlet side of the valve body, rendering reverse flow impossible.

Specification criteria :

  • ASME, ASTM, API, and UL third-party recognized
  • 300 psi hydraulic shock certified
  • 20,000 Demonstrated cycle life
  • Demonstrated fail-safe performance
  • Can not create a hydraulic shock to upstream components
  • Anti-siphon featured The criteria established for this system are based on years of experience with fuel handling, design and manufacturing of fuel handling equipment and fuel storage tanks. This type of equipment is under constant assault from the chemicals they contain, the environment in which they exist and the people that use them. We strive to consider these factors as every specific component comes together, and to ensure that the completed assembly is, longlasting, durable, user-friendly and maintenance-free as possible. These are value-added benefits that will pay off over the years of trouble-free service.
