UL-142 STANDARD SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
SuperSafe's Inherent Prevention
by Design. The SuperSafe Tank Overfill Protection System employs six redundant safety features in its design
and assembly. These standard features include:
- A large-faced volume gauge calibrated in feet and inches to demonstrate the available
remaining capacity within the primary tank.
- A weather-tight sticking hatch on top of the Cylindrical Dike so that the manual fuel level determination can
be made (required per API).
- A fail-safe high-level alarm, not dependent on the volume gauge, that will sound an alarm, flash a beacon and
stop the pump motor, Per: NFPA-30 2-10.1b.
- A fail-safe high-level hydraulic valve built to ANSI B16.5 Standard and meets NFPA-30 2-10.1.1 Emergency independent
shutdown system.
- Emergency overflow vent directly funneling fuel into the annular interstitial space which has a 25% greater
capacity than the primary tank.
- Annular Interstitial liquid sensor to recognize a nonstandard condition and sound an alarm, flash a beacon
and stop the pump motor.
The SuperSafe Spill Protection System is composed of:
- Kamlock and dry-break couplers.
- Filling adapters installed at an elevated 45 degree angle so that even the smallest drop isn't lost during
hose disconnect.
- Spring loaded full port inlet check valve ensure prevention of reverse flow.
- A slow-closing hydraulic high-level shutdown valve prevents hydraulic shock to up-stream components.
Dispensing or suction piping that is configured utilizing down-stream components
of solenoid valves, fire-link valves and shear valves as appropriate.
- Tank sumping and product supply piping are protected from fuel siphoning with the SuperSafe Antisipon System.
- All fill, suction, dispensing and vapor recovery piping is secondarily contained in weather-tight, liquid-tight
compartment with monitoring ports or liquid detecting sensors where necessary.

The SuperSafe Leak Protection System:
- Ensures that in the unlikely event of a tank leak, the escaping product would be captured within the Cylindrical
Dike. A fail-safe engineered self diagnostic liquid sensor in the dike sump will recognize the non- standard condition
and sound an alarm.
- Features piping that is integral and or fully contained within the weather- tight pumping compartment. The
liquid-tight secondary containment capacity is twice the sum of the liquid bearing components' volumetric capacity.
The SuperSafe Vandalism Protection System is a design of prevention.
- All access to the stored product is lockable - fill and pump compartment doors, all pipe adapter caps, inspection
and sticking hatches.
- Threaded or bolted access is torqued to the maximum allowable - volumetric gauge, bolted ingress manhole, exposed
electrical junction boxes, emergency and working vents.
